I haven't eaten here recently so I can't speak on the quality of the food itself. However, while I was waiting to pick up a DoorDash order, I saw a male server bring out a plate of food to one of the dine-in tables. When he was carrying the plate, his entire finger was IN the patron's food (it appeared to be shrimp tempura). Also, both the inside and the outside of the restaurant look cheap and unkept. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a fine-dining atmosphere. Edit in response to the restaurant's reply: I was not upset waiting for the food, as they actually had the DoorDash order ready within a few minutes of my arrival. This is why I rated the restaurant two stars, rather than one. And as far for the server's finger being IN the tempura, I had meant that it was touching multiple pieces of the food, rather than accidentally brushing against the food. Perhaps my wording of that was poor.

Food was okay. The tonkotsu ramen was disappointing with the broth lacking flavor and the soft boiled egg tasting a little off. The salmon hibachi was good but I would prefer the salmon and veggies not swimming in the sweet sauce that came with. The salad I ordered had lettuce that was old but it tasted fine. Overall not the worst food but won’t be coming back.

My husband and I enjoyed our first dining experience at Tougen. The service was excellent, the dining room very clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. Wait time was minimal. Our meal was just under $50 and included 2 appetizers (tuna tataki and edamame), chicken hibachi, and vegetable hibachi. We each chose fried rice and added miso soup and ginger house salad to our main course. I had a soda and my husband had a tea. The food was fresh and delicious. Servings were standard size and I had enough hibachi to take leftovers home. We plan to return to Tougen as the experience was wonderful.

There is a small amount of tables with some bar seating as well. Service is somewhat slow even when there are few people in the restaurant. The meat is generally low to medium quality, while all the food is pretty much completely unseasoned.

The Ramen is so good! I loved the char on the meat, and the broth with the chili oil was perfection. I ordered with extra meat and egg. The cucumber salad with shrimp was refreshing. The Fried Calamari was a little tough for me, but to be fair, I tried it hours later after air frying, but it was still tasty. I'm thinking of ordering more Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen already. Oh, and I really appreciate when businesses staple/ secure the food orders for deliveries.
